SCSI ID jumpers and drive termination

Setting the SCSI ID

Your SCSI drive is configured at the factory as SCSI ID 0 (no jumpers installed). If you are installing only one drive or if this will be your boot drive, the drive should be configured as SCSI ID 0.

Each device on the SCSI chain must have a unique SCSI ID. If you are installing a second hard drive, choose the next available ID. SCSI ID 7 is usually reserved for the SCSI host adapter.

Figure 1 on page 4 shows the jumper settings for SCSI IDs 0 through 7.
