Style 407

Thank you for purchasing a Shakespeare antenna product. Customer comments are welcome. Before installing, please study the diagram and check parts supplied against those listed.

Important: Please read all instructions before installation!

The Style 407 Heavy Duty 4-Way Swivel Mount is a versatile antenna mount made of chrome plated brass. Its four- way swivel action permits easy lowering of the antenna to clear overhead obstructions. The mount is not self-supporting and must be used with a Shakespeare Style 408-R Standoff Bracket (sold separately). Standard 1”-14 threads.

Tools required: Drill, drill bit for 1/4” wood or sheet metal screws, screwdriverInstallation

Instructions

1.Choose a mounting location that is as high as possible, as free as possible from obstructions, and as far as possible from other antennas.

2.Using the mount’s base plate as a template, mark the locations for the four mounting holes. Drill 1/4” mounting holes.

Note: When drilling fiberglass, use metal drilling bits, not wood boring bits. If possible, support the surface with a wooden backup pad during drilling, to minimize push-through damage.

3.Assemble the Swivel Mount by joining the two sections and securing them with the hex-head bolt, lockwasher, and nut (supplied). Note that this joint can be in one of two positions, according to whether you’re mounting to a vertical or horizontal surface.

4.Attach the mount assembly to the mounting surface using machine screws, lockwashers, and nuts (sold separately). For some types of surfaces, you might need to substitute stainless steel woodscrews or other hardware.

5.Attach the antenna to the Swivel Mount, being careful not to damage the antenna’s cabling, if any. Fit the antenna into your upper support bracket (sold separately) and secure it.

IMPORTANT: If the thickness of the mounting surface is not adequate to support the antenna under expected stress, a wooden back-up pad (not supplied) should be applied underneath the mounting surface during installation.
