Parental control setting
Some discs are specified as not suitable for children. Playback of such discs can be restricted with this TV/DVD.
1Select “Parental”, then press ▶ or ENTER. “Enter Password” screen will appear.
2Press “0000” using Number buttons
• If you input a wrong number, press CANCEL.

•Select from level 1 to level 8. The limitation will be more severe as the level number decreases.
3Press ▲/▼ to select from the level 1 to level 8. The limitation will be more severe as the level number is lower. Then press ENTER.
4Press SETUP to return to the normal screen.
•After the rating is locked, the setting cannot be changed unless you enter the correct password.
NOTE
•The password is required every time when you change the parental level.
•Depending on the discs, the TV/DVD may not be able to limit playback.
•Some discs may not be encoded with specific rating level information though its disc jacket says “adult.” For those discs, the parental control feature will not work.
Set the new password
1Select “Password”, then press ▶ or ENTER. “Enter Current Password” screen will appear.
2Press Number buttons
• If you input a wrong number, press CANCEL.
3Then press ENTER. “Enter New Password” screen will appear. Press Number buttons
4Press ENTER. Now your new password has been set. Be sure to remember this number!
NOTE
If you forget the password...
1. Press EJECT to remove the disc.
2. While holding 7 down on the remote control and at the same time press STOP on the front panel. “Password Clear” appears on the screen. Now the password has been returned to the initial value (“0000”).
Temporary disabling of rating level by DVD disc
Depending on the DVD disc, the disc may try to temporarily cancel the rating level that you have set. It is up to you to decide whether to cancel the rating level or not.
1Load a DVD disc. (See page 26.)
2If the DVD disc has been designed to temporarily cancel the rating level, the screen which follows the “Reading” screen will change, depending on which disc is played. If you select “YES” with pressing ENTER, password input screen will then appear.
3Enter the password with Number buttons
• If you interrupt the entering, press RETURN.

4Playback will commence if the entered password was correct.
NOTE
•This temporary cancellation of the rating level will be kept until the disc is ejected.
When the disc is ejected, the original rating level will be set again automatically.
