Note: Powering Off the AirCard 580 does not mean that you have exited Watcher.

Note: If you have not activated your AirCard 580, an Activation Alert Notification displays once an attempt to connect is made. The dialog explains that you must activate your card in order to establish a connection.

Exiting Watcher

In order to close and exit Watcher, you must ensure that you are disconnected from the network. (See “Connect / Disconnect” in this chapter on page 18).

1.Click the Watcher system tray icon found in the system tray and a menu appears:

2.Select Exit from the menu. (This closes and exits Watcher and the icon disappears from the system tray).

Powering the AirCard 580 (On/Off)

To power the AirCard 580 on and off:

1.Click the Watcher icon found in your system tray.

2.Select Power Off Cardor Power On Cardfrom the shortcut menu.

WARNING: Do not eject theAirCard 580 from your notebook PC until you have followed the Unplug/Eject Hardware instructions for proper removal [See Chapter 3, page 12]. Removing the card improperly may damage your computer.

Connect and disconnect

Connect

Once you have properly inserted the AirCard 580 wireless modem into your notebook PC’s Type II PC Card slot. Watcher notifies that it is “Ready” to connect to the network.
