Step 1: Wall Plate Installation

Wood Stud Installation

1Use a high-quality electronic stud finder (commercially available) to locate dead center of two studs and mark their locations with a pencil (figure 1-a).

2Hold the wall plate to the wall and mark four locations to be used for mounting the wall plate.

3Take down the plate and drill four holes at the position you've marked.

4Attach the wall plate to the wall again and insert the bolts (A) and large washers

(D) into the holes (figure 1-b) and tighten.
