Cleaning the video head

Toensurenormalrecordingandclearpictures,cleanthevideoheads.Thevideohead maybedirtywhen:

•The xindicator and “ CLEANING CASSETTE” message appear one after another orthe xindicatorflashesintheviewfinder.

•Playbackpicturescontainnoise.

•Playbackpicturesarehardlyvisible.

•Playbackpicturesdonotappear.

Ifthishappens,cleanthevideoheadswiththeSonyV8-25CLDcleaningcassette (optional).

Note on video heads

Whentheplaybackpicturesstillcontainnoiseevenifyouhavecleanedthevideoheads withacleaningcassette,thevideoheadsmayhaveworndownduetolonguse.Ifthisis thecase,theymustbereplacedwithnewheads.ContactyourSonydealerorlocal authorizedSonyservicefacility.

About care and storage of the Lens

•Wipethesurfaceofthelenscleanwithasoftclothinthefollowinginstances:

–Whentherearefingerprintsonthelenssurface

–Inhotorhumidlocations

–Whenthelensisusedinenvironmentssusceptibletosaltsuchastheseaside

•Storethelensinawell-ventilatedlocationsubjecttolittledirtordust

Topreventmoldfromoccurring,periodicallyperformtheabove.

Werecommendturningonandoperatingyourcamcorderaboutoncepermonthto keepyourcamcorderinanoptimumstateforalongtime.
