Sony Ni-MH Battery Charger
You have just purchased the Ni-MH battery charger that will provide your batteries with outstanding power and performance for your electronic devices. SonyÕs Ni-MH Battery Charger has following features;
¥Can charge up to 4AA 2500 mAh Ni-MH batteries in 15 minutes.
¥Automatic charge cut-off
1:Voltage monitoring function
2:Safety timer
3:Temperature monitoring function
4:Alkaline battery detection
Please read this instruction manual carefully before use
The Sony Ni-MH Battery Charger should be used only with Sony AA or AAA size Ni-MH batteries that are marked Òrechargeable.Ó
3The batteries are now ready for use. Disconnect AC adapter from the AC outlet and remove the batteries from the charger.
Notes
¥If the LED indicator continuously flashes on and off during the charging process or does not turn on, please refer to the troubleshooting chart.
¥The fan will operate while charging and will stop some time after charging.
¥The batteries should be fully discharged before they are recharged.
¥The batteries must be inserted before the charger is plugged into the AC outlet.
¥The batteries should never be stored in the charger when not being charged.
CAUTION
¥The battery charger is for indoor use only. Never expose the charger to rain or snow.
¥The charger should be disconnected from the outlet when the charging process is complete or when the charger is not in use.
¥Do not drop, place heavy weight on, or allow strong impact to the charger.
¥Do not disassemble or reassemble the charger.
¥Children should only use the charger under adult supervision.
¥Operating Temperature: 32¡F - 95¡F (0¡C - 35¡C). To optimize charging capacity, charge the batteries in temperatures between 50¡F - 86¡F (10¡C - 30¡C).
¥Do not expose the charger to direct sunlight. Keep away from high temperatures.

How to insert and charge the rechargeable batteries (B)
1Insert the Sony AA or AAA size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries into the charger, ensuring proper alignment of the + and Ð terminals.
Any combination of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries is possible.
AA: 1 - 4 batteries AAA: 1 - 4 batteries
2Once the batteries have been properly inserted, plug the end of the power cord into the charger and connect the AC adapter into the proper AC outlet (standard 100 - 120 V).
The Orange LED indicator will light up to signal that the charging process has begun. The Orange LED indicator will turn off in 15 minutes.
Please refer to the chart for charging time.

The above charging time is an approximation based on 68¡F (20¡C) temperature. Charging time will vary depending on the charging conditions and remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery.

WARNING
¥Use only 100 - 120 V AC outlet.
¥Do not charge fully charged batteries.
¥Do not cover the vent. Do not insert any metal objects (e.g. hair-pins, keys, etc.) into the vent.
¥Use only AA or AAA size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.
¥Never charge other types of batteries, such as Alkaline or Carbon Zinc as this may cause them to become hot, leak or rupture, causing personal injury or property damage.
¥The charger, AC adapter and batteries may become hot when charging. Use caution when handling.
¥Use charger properly to avoid electric shock.
¥Do not use liquid or detergent to clean the plug or the + and Ð terminals.
Instructions for the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries
The batteries included are not charged. It is necessary to charge the batteries before using them for the first time. The contact surface of the batteries and the charger must always be kept clean.
¥Do not expose the batteries to water.
¥Do not heat the batteries or dispose of them in fire.
¥Do not tear off the jacket label.
¥Do not disassemble or reassemble the batteries.
¥Do not short-circuit the batteries. To avoid short-circuiting, keep the batteries away from all metal objects (e.g. coins, hair-pins, keys, etc.)
If the batteries are stored without use, either partially charged or fully discharged for 6 months or longer, they may require several cycles of charging and discharging in order to attain their original charge capacity.

Cómo insertar y cargar las baterías recargables (B)

PRECAUCIîN
¥El cargador de bater’as est‡ destinado para uso en espacios cerrados. No lo exponga nunca a condiciones de lluvia o nieve.

¥El uso del cargador por parte de ni–os requiere la supervisi—n de un adulto.
¥Temperatura de funcionamiento: entre 0¡C y 35¡C (entre 32¡F y 95¡F). Para optimizar la capacidad de carga, cargue las bater’as en temperaturas entre 10¡C y 30¡C (entre 50¡F y 86¡F).
¥No exponga el cargador a la luz directa del sol. MantŽngalo alejado de altas temperaturas.
Instrucciones para bater’as recargables Ni-MH
Las bater’as suministradas no est‡n cargadas. Se deben cargar antes de utilizarse por primera vez. La superficie de contacto de las bater’as y del cargador debe estar siempre limpia.
¥No exponga las bater’as al agua.
¥No caliente las bater’as ni las arroje al fuego.
¥No arranque la etiqueta protectora.
¥No desmonte ni vuelva a montar las bater’as.
¥No cortocircuite las bater’as. Para evitar que se produzca un cortocircuito, mantenga las bater’as alejadas de cualquier objeto met‡lico (por ejemplo: monedas, horquillas, llaves, etc.).
Si guarda las bater’as sin utilizarlas durante 6 meses o m‡s tiempo, total o parcialmente cargadas, es posible que se requieran varios ciclos de carga y descarga para obtener la capacidad de carga original.
