充電式電池で使う L
初めてお使いになるときは、充電式電池を 充電してください。一度、ACパワーアダプターのプラグをDC IN 4.5Vジャックから外し、充電式電池を 交換してください。その後、ACパワーアダ プターのプラグを再度DC IN 4.5Vジャッ クに挿入してください。
OPR/CHGランプが点滅表示しない場合 は、上記の手順にて再度充電をやり直して ください。ご注意
•充電時間は充電式電池の使用状態により異なり
ます。
•初めて充電するときや長時間使用しなかった後 では、充電しても通常の持続時間より短いこと があります。何回か充放電をすると通常の状態 に戻ります。
•充電後、常温で使える時間の半分くらいで電池 がなくなってしまうときは、新しい充電式電池

Playing a CD right away! AIf you want to play a CD right now, choose to use your player on house current. Other choices are the following two: rechargeable batteries and dry batteries (see "Power Sources").
1 Make connections.Connect the supplied earphones with remote control to the 2/REMOTE jack firmly. Also connect the supplied AC power adaptor to the DC IN 4.5 V jack of your player and a wall outlet. If the AC power adaptor does not fit the wall outlet, use the AC plug adaptor.
2 Place a CD.1Slide OPEN to open the lid.2Fit the CD to the pivot with the label side up.3 Play a CD.1Press (.The OPR/CHG lamp on the player lights.2Adjust the volume. To stop play, press p.You can play track repeatedly in normal, INTRO PGM or shuffle play modes. Repeat all the tracks or only one track.

Using rechargeable batteries LCharge the rechargeable batteries before using them for the first time.Use the
2 Insert two rechargeable batteries by matching the Ôand Õto the diagram inside the battery compartment and close the lid. (Be sure to close it firmly, or the CD may be damaged.) Then close the lid of the main unit.
3 Connect the AC power adaptor. The OPR/CHG lamp on the player flashes. The charging time is about 4 hours.
4 When fully charged, the OPR/CHG lamp goes out. Then, disconnect the AC power adaptor.
When to charge the batteriesWhen the batteries become weak, iin the display on the remote control flashes. When the batteries are used up, istops flashing and lights up. Charge the rechargeable batteries.
To keep the original battery capacity for a long time, recharge the batteries when the batteries are used up (discharged).

お手入れ
レンズの汚れは柔らかい布で空ぶきします。汚れがひどい ときは、うすい中性洗剤溶液でしめらせた 布でふいてください。シンナー、ベンジ ン、アルコールなどは表面の仕上げをいた めますので使わないでください。

To remove the CDRemove the CD while pressing the pivot.Note on controlling the volume with the remote controlSet the VOL (volume) control on the remote control to MAX. Then adjust the volume on the player to the level that you want to be the maximum volume of the remote control.
Notes on the display on the remote control•When you press ( (when RESUME is set to OFF), the total number of the tracks in the CD and the total playing time appear for 2 seconds.
•During play, the track number and the elapsed playing time of the current track appear.
•Between the tracks, the time to the beginning of the next track will appear with the

3 Press REPEAT/ENTER while the track you want is playing. To skip the track, press +side of (or just wait for the next track.
When you go through the CD, “INTRO PGM” stops flashing and the tracks you chose play automatically.
To finish programming before hearing through the CD, press PLAY MODE. The tracks you have chosen play automatically.
If you press p, the program will be erased. To prevent accidental erasure, set the RESUME switch to ON.
To cancel INTRO PGM play, press PLAY MODE until no play mode is indicated in the display.
Playing tracks in random order (Shuffle Play) DYou can play the tracks on a CD in random order.During play, press PLAY MODE repeatedly, until “SHUF” appears.The tracks play in random order.To cancel shuffle play, press PLAY MODE repeatedly until no play mode is indicated in the display.
Using other functionsTo minimize skipping (ESP2) EThe ESP (Electronic Shock Protection) function minimize skipping by using a buffer memory that stores music data and plays it back in the event of a shock.
The new ESP2 (ESP Squared) system uses a new DSP (Digital Signal Processor) which can read and store music data more efficiently, providing a level of continuous skip protection not found in traditional buffer memory units. This decreases the frequency of sound skipping and the need to utilize the buffer memory. Use this function when listening in a car or while walking.*
*Although ESP2 provides excellent protection against skipping, it will not prevent skipping while jogging or running.
Set ESP to ON.The ESP indication appears.To release the ESP function, set ESP to OFF.Disconnect the power source (AC power adaptor, rechargeable battery or alkaline batteries). While you press and hold down p on the main unit, connect the power source again. To make the beep sound again, disconnect the power source, and then connect it without pressing p.
Connecting to other stereo equipment JYou can listen to the CD through other stereo equipment, or record a CD on a cassette tape. Refer to the instruction manual of the other equipment for details. Before making connections, turn off each piece of equipment.
