The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with alcohol.

The surround effect is difficult to hear when you are playing a Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEG audio sound track.

The IR receiver of the surround speaker (L) is receiving an infrared signal from another Sony’s wireless product. Move the IR transmitter and/or the surround speaker so that the IR status indicator turns green.

Move the wireless system away from any other nearby wireless system(s).Point the IR transmitter at the IR receiver of the surround speaker (L).
