Notes on using the built-in flash

When shooting with the built-in flash, the lens may block the flash light and a shadow may appear on the lower part of the image. Be careful about the following:

Shoot the subject at a distance of 1 m or longer.

Remove the lens hood.

Eyecup

Adjust the diopter-adjustment dial to your eyesight until the indicators appear clearly in the viewfinder.

Turn the dial toward + when you are far-sighted, toward – when you are near-sighted. The direction is indicated on the dial if you remove the eyecup. t“User’s Guide/Troubleshooting” (page 44)

Training the camera on the light allows you to adjust the diopter easily.
