This selection determines the way in which monitoring
will be carried out during recording.
This section describes how to set user bit values, time
code values and the real time.
Open the lid covering the time code setting controls as
shown in the following figure.
Selecting the monitoring mode for recording
Opening the lid covering the time code setting controls
Use the CONFI switch on the connector panel to select
the monitored signal.
To monitor the simultaneous playback of the
recorded video and audio signals from the confidence
heads, using a video monitor or other equipment
connected to the VIDEO OUT connector, set the
CONFI switch to the ON position.
To carry out error detection by means of ECC
without direct monitoring of the recorded signals, set
the CONFI switch to the ECC position. In this case
the monitor output during recording is an E-E signal.
To carry out no direct monitoring of the recorded
signals, and only RF envelope monitoring, set the
CONFI switch to the OFF position.
The OFF setting results in the lowest power
consumption, and the ON setting the highest. When
using the unit with a battery pack, set the CONFI
switch to the ECC or OFF position.
Setting a constant user bit value
The user bit values recorded on the time code track
provide for eight hexadecimal digits, which can be
used to hold the date, time, scene number or other
information.
Setting the user bit value
1 Set the DISPLAY switch by the status indication
panel to U-BIT.
2 Set the F-RUN/R-RUN switch to SET.
3 Set the REAL TIME record/set switch to REC ON
or
OFF.
