To display the year and date
Press CLOCK once forthe date. and wilhin
about5seconds press it againfor the year.
Thedisplay shows the datc or year for about
5secondsand then changes back 10 the current lime.

When daylight saving time
(summer time) begins
Thismodel employs the Automatic Daylight Saving
Time/SummerTimeadjustment. The DST indicalor in
thedisplay appears in thedisplay at lhe beginning of
thedaylight saving time (summer time). and
disappearsal the end of it.
•Daylightsaving time begins at: 2:00 AM on the
secondSunday of March.
•Standardlime begins at: 2:00
AM onthe first
Sunday of November.

About the backup
battery
When to replace the battery
Withnormal use. the battery (CR2025) should last for
aboutsix months. When the remOle commander no
longeroperates the
unit replacethe battery with new
ones.(Sce Fig. m·@)
Note
Whenyou replacc the battery. keep the AC plug
connecledto awall ollliet. Otherwise, current time
andalarms will be initialized if the rcplacement is not
completcdwithin around onc minute.
Notes
•Do not chargethe batlery.
•Whenyou are not going to use the remOle
commanderfor along time. remove the battery to
avoidany damage caused by leakage and corrosion.
Ifapower interruption occurs when the baltery is
weak.the brightness of characters in thedisplay
darkens.If the battery runs out during the inTerruption,
thecurrent time and alarm functions will be
initialized.
Knowing when to replace
the battery
To keepgood time. as abackup power 1;ource. this
unithas one CR2032battery inside of theunit in
additionto the house current.
Thebauery keeps the clock and the alarm operating in
theevent of apowerinlcrruption.
Note thatthe backlight willnot light up during a
powerinterruption,
Replacethe battery with aSony CR2032 lithium
battery.Use
of anotherbauery may present arisk of
fire or explosion.
Replacing the backup
battery
1Keepthe AC plug connected to the AC
outlet.remove the screw that secures the
batterycompartment at the bottom of the
unitusing ascrewdriver. and remove the
batlerycompartment. (Sec Fig. Et-CD)
2Insertanew battery in thebattery
compartmentwith the 0side facing up.
To removethe battery from the battery
compartment.push it out from the side marked
PUSH.(Sec Fig. m-®l
3Insertthe battery compartment back into the
unitand secure it withthe screw.
