Toget the MEGAXpand effect
Youcan fall asleep to the radio and also be awakened
bylhe radio
or buzzeralarm at the prescttime.
1 Set the alarm. (See '·Setting the alarm".)
2 Set the sleep timer. (See "Setting the sleep
timcr".)
Press MEGA Xpand. "MEGA Xpand"appears in
Ihedisplay. You can get the effect of expansion of the
soundfield.
To returnto normal sound, press the
buttonagain.
To turn off the unit beforethe
preset time
To stop listening
Press OFF.and stop playback on the connected
unit.

1Connectthe AUDIO IN jack or the unit to
thc line out jack or headphone jack of thc
external equipment using the audio
connecting cable (supplied).
Youcan fall asleep to the sound using the built-in
sleeptimer that turns
off theunit automatically after a
presetduration
1 Press SLEEP while the unit is turned on.
SLEEP appears in thedisplay.
2 Press SLEEP to set the sleep timcr
duration.

Todeactivate the alarm
Press ALARM SET A(orB) to turnoff the
ALARM A(or B) indicator from thedisplay.
Note on alarm in the event of a power
interruption
•Whenthe alaml sound is setto RADIO or iPod. it
willchange to
BUZZER automatically.
•
If thebackup battery is exhausted.the alarm will not
work
in theevent of powerinterruption. Replace the
batteryperiodically.
The dualalarm function allows you to set two alarm
programs(ALARM Aand ALARM
B).
The alarmtime can be set for each program and the
alarmsound
is selectablefrom RADIO. BUZZER or
iPod.
To stop thealarm
Press OFF 1O turn off the alarm.
The alarmwill come on soundagain at thesame time
thenext day.
If
OFF is notpressed. the huzzer alann sounds
continuouslyfor about 3minutes. and then
it stops
automatically.
TheRADIO and iPod sound continuously until
OFF
is pressed.
To set thealarm time
Todoze for afewmore minutes
Press SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS.
The soundturns off butwill automatically come on
againafter about 5minutes.
Themaximum length
of thesnooze time is 40 minutes.
Notes on using iPod touch/iPhone
•Ifyou set the iPod alarm while iPod touchliPhone
music
is playing.and then turn the unit power off.
whenthe alarm time comes on. the
alann musicwill
resumefrom the point where the power was turned
oil".
•Even if theiPod alarm sctting is complete. if you
tumthe iPod touch/iPhone power
off beforelhe
unit.the iPod alarm will not work.

1Press ALARM SET Afora few seconds.
2Press TIME SET +1- to setthe desired
hour,and press
ALARM SET A.
3Press TIME SET +1- to setthe desired
minute,and press

4Press TIME SET +1-10 setthe desired

5Ifyou select the RADIO or iPod. press
TIME SET +1- to set thewake up

•Whenyou use the radio almm. the timed alaml
soundswith the last broadcasting station tuned to
beforethe power went off. When you SCi the radio
alarm.select the desired hrondcasting station before
turningthe power off.

The ALARM A(or B) indicatorflashes in the
displaywhen the alarm sounds.
•
If asecond alann soundsduring a fi~t (orthe
SNOOZE function is active).the second alann takes
,prionty.
•Thealarm function works as usual at the beginning
andend day
of thedaylight saving time (summer
time).While thc Automatic DST/Summcr Time
adjustment
is set.as aresult. if thealarm is setat a
timeskipped when the daylight saving time (summer
time)begins. the alarm is skipped. or ifthe alarm is
setat atime overlapped when the daylight saving
time(summer time) ends. the alarm sounds twice.

and manually tune into the station you wish
to preset.
2Pressand hold the desired PRESET
TUN I NG button for more than two
seconds for registration.
Afterthe preset has finished. the preset number
appearson the display.

Keepaway digital music player or mobile phone from
theAM loop antenna or the
FM wireamenna. as this

1 Press RADIO ON 1O turn on the radio.
2Pressone of the PRESET TUNING
buttons where the desired station is stored.
3Adjustvolume using VOLUME.
To turn off theradio. press OFF.
Tip
If theFM broadcast is noisy. press FM MODEon
theremote commander to turn
off "STEREO'· in the
display.The radio becomes clearer although the sound
becomesmonaural.
To presetanother station. repeat these steps.
To changethe preset station. tune into the desired
stationand hold down the
PRESET TUNING 1
to5bUllon. The new station will replace the
previoussialion on the prcset button.

FM IandFM2 are the same frequency bands.
3 Use TUNING + or - to tune into the
desired station.
The FM frequencyadvances or reverses in 0.1
MHz channelsleps and the AM frequency in 10
kHzchannel steps.
