Setting the Clock
1Plug in the clock radio.The display will flash “AM 12:00” or “0:00”.2Press CLOCK for a few seconds.You will hear a beep and the year will start to flash in the display.3Press TUNE/TIME SET + or – until the correct year appears in the display.4Press CLOCK once.5Repeat steps 3 and 4 to set the month, date, hour, and minute.After setting the minute, press and release CLOCK to start the counting of the seconds.
•To display the year and date, press SNOOZE/ DATE/SLEEP OFF once for the date and within 2 seconds press it again for the year. The date or year will appear in the display for a few seconds and then the display returns to the current time.
When SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF is pressed while the SNOOZE function is operating, the year and date will not appear in the display.
•To set the current time rapidly, hold down the + or – button.•The clock system varies depending on the model you own.•To set the current time from zero seconds, release CLOCK with the time signal at step 5.
To change the display to the daylight saving time (summer time) indicationPress D.S.T./SUMMER T.“” is displayed and the time indication changes to summer time.To cancel the summer time indication, press D.S.T./SUMMER T. again.Operating the Radio
Manual Tuning
1Press RADIO ON to turn on the radio.The band and frequency will appear in the display for a few seconds and then the current time indication returns to the display.
2Press BAND repeatedly to select the desired band.3Use TUNE/TIME SET + or – to tune in the desired station.The FM channel step is set to 0.1 MHz and the AM channel step is set to l0 kHz for the model for the North and South America. The FM channel step is set to 0.05 MHz and the AM(MW) channel step is set to 9 kHz for the model for other countries. (The FM frequency indication changes every 0.1 MHz.)
The LW channel step is set to 9 kHz .A beep sounds when the upper or lower extremity of the band range is reached.4Adjust volume using VOLUME.•To turn off the radio, press RADIO OFF.•To improve receptionFM: Extend the FM wire antenna fully to increase FM reception sensitivity.AM(MW)/LW: Rotate the unit horizontally for optimum reception. A ferrite bar is built in to the unit.
•To check the current station, press the + or – button lightly. The band and frequency are displayed for a few seconds, after which the current time indication returns to the display.
•If the radio alarm A RADIO comes on while the radio is playing, the station switches to the frequency set under preset number 1.
To set the brightness of the backlightSet BRIGHTNESS to H (high) or L (low) to make the display more visible.Preset Tuning
You can preset up to five stations for

•When using the radio alarm, preset the station you wish to serve as the alarm under preset button 1.
To change a preset stationPress the preset number again after tuning in manually to a different station. The previous station is replaced by the new one.
Tuning in a preset station1Press RADIO ON to turn on the radio.
2Press the STATION•SELECT/PRESET button under which the desired station is stored.
3Adjust volume using VOLUME.After a few seconds, the display will return to the current time but the preset number indication will remain.
Using the Digital Voice Memo

•If you want to keep the recorded message, be careful not press the VOICE MEMO•REC button. Since the recording overlaps the last recorded message.
•The volume cannot be adjusted for the voice memo.Setting the Alarm
You can set the radio and buzzer alarms at the preset time. Before setting the alarm, be sure to set the clock (See “Setting the Clock”) and preset a radio station under preset button 1 (See “Preset Tuning”).
1Turn off the radio.2Hold down A RADIO or B BUZZER until a short beep sounds.The “A RADIO” or “B BUZZER” indication and the hour will flash in the display.3Press either TUNE/TIME SET + or – until the desired hour appears in the display.
4Press A RADIO or B BUZZER to set the minute.The minute will flash in the display.5Press either TUNE/TIME SET + or – until the desired minute appears in the display.
6Press A RADIO or B BUZZER.Two short beeps sound to indicate successful presetting.7Press ALARM MODE until the alarm you want appears in the display.Each time you press ALARM MODE, the alarm indication changes as follows.No alarm indicationandWhen the alarm time is reached, the radio or buzzer sounds for 60 minutes or until turned off.
To stop the alarmPress ALARM RESET while the alarm is activated.The alarm will function at the same time the next day.To cancel the alarmPress ALARM MODE until neither the “A RADIO” nor “B BUZZER” indication is displayed.
Notes
•The alarm does not function, unless you set the clock, A RADIO and B BUZZER function.
•If both the radio and buzzer alarm are set for the same time, the radio alarm takes precedence.
•You can check the alarm time setting by pressing A RADIO or B BUZZER.To doze for a few more minutes
1Press SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF.The radio or buzzer will shut off but will automatically come on again after about 8 minutes. You can repeat this process as many times as you like.
•The alarm indicator flashes continuously during the snooze function.To set the Wake Up Memo
1Set the alarm mode. (See “Setting the Alarm”.)2Set the voice memo. (See “Using the Digital Voice Memo”.)3Press WAKE UP MEMO.“” will be displayed.When the alarm time is reached, the voice memo plays back and then the radio or buzzer will go on for 60 minutes or until turned off. When you press ALARM RESET to turn off the alarm, the voice memo plays back and then the alarm mode goes off. When SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF is pressed during the radio or buzzer alarm with the wake up memo, the radio or buzzer will shut off and the voice memo will play back each time.

You can fall asleep to the radio sound and you will be awakened by the radio or buzzer alarm at the preset time.

Should any problem occur with the unit, make the following simple checks to determine whether or not servicing is required.
If the problem persists, consult the nearest Sony dealer.The clock does not show the correct time.•Has an electrical power outage lasting more than half an hour occurred?The radio or buzzer alarm does not sound at the preset alarm time.•Has the desired radio and/or buzzer alarm mode been activated with the ALARM MODE button (“A RADIO” and/or “B BUZZER” indication shown in the display)?

Precautions
•Operate the unit on the power sources specified in “Specifications”.•The nameplate indicating voltage, etc. is located at the bottom of the unit.•Disconnect the cord by grasping the plug. Never pull it by the cord.•Do not leave the unit in a location near a heat source such as a radiator or airduct, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or shock.
•Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc.) or near materials (curtains, draperies) that block the ventilation holes.
•Should any liquid or solid object fall into the unit, unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it further.
•When the casing becomes soiled, clean it with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents, as they may mar the casing.
•The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the wall outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned off.

Réglage de l’heure

4Appuyez une fois sur CLOCK.5Répétez les étapes 3 et 4 pour régler le mois, la date, les heures et les minutes.
Après avoir réglé les minutes, appuyez sur CLOCK et relâchez la touche pour que les secondes se mettent à tourner.
•Pour afficher l’année et la date, appuyez une fois sur SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF pour la date et une nouvelle fois en l’espace de 2 secondes pour l’année. La date ou l’année est affichée pendant quelques secondes, puis l’heure réapparaît.
Si vous appuyez sur SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF quand la fonction SNOOZE est en service, l’année et la date n’apparaissent pas.
•Pour régler l’heure plus rapidement, tenez la touche + ou – enfoncée.•Le format de l’heure varie en fonction du modèle.Format de 12 heures : “AM 12:00” = minuitFormat de 24 heures : “0:00” = minuit•Pour régler l’heure en partant de zéro pour les secondes, relâchez CLOCK au top horaire à l’étape 5.

Accord manuel
1Appuyez sur RADIO ON pour mettre la radio sous tension.La gamme et la fréquence sont affichées pendant quelques secondes, puis l’heure réapparaît.
2Appuyez de façon répétée sur BAND pour sélectionner la gamme souhaitée.3Utilisez TUNE/TIME SET + ou – pour accorder la station.L’intervalle d’accord FM est réglé sur 0,1 MHz et l’intervalle d’accord AM sur 10 kHz sur le modèle pour l’Amérique du Nord et du Sud. L’intervalle d’accord FM est réglé sur 0,05 MHz et l’intervalle d’accord AM (PO) sur 9 kHz sur les modèles pour les autres pays. (L’indication de la fréquence FM change tous les 0,1 MHz.)
L’intervalle d’accord GO est réglé sur 9 kHz.Un bip retentit lorsque la limite supérieure ou inférieure de la gamme est atteinte.

Enregistrement numérique d’un message
1Appuyez sur VOICE MEMO•REC jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez un bip.2Parlez devant le microphone quand “ ” clignote (pendant environ 20 secondes).Le temps d’enregistrement apparaît et s’écoule.3Appuyez une nouvelle fois sur VOICE MEMO•REC pour arrêter l’enregistrement.“End” apparaît et un long bip est audible.4Appuyez sur VOICE MEMO•PLAY pour vérifier si votre message est correct.Remarques•Un seul message d’une durée maximale de 20 secondes peut être enregistré.•Si vous voulez conserver ce message, veillez à ne pas appuyer sur la touche VOICE MEMO•REC, sinon l’ancien message sera effacé par le nouvel enregistrement.
•Le volume du message ne peut pas être réglé.Réglage de l’alarme
Vous pouvez régler les alarmes par radio et par sonnerie pour qu’elles se déclenchent à l’heure de votre choix. N’oubliez pas de régler l’heure avant de régler l’alarme (voir “Réglage de l’horloge”) et de prérégler une station radio sur la touche de préréglage 1 (voir “Accord par préréglage”).

Lorsque l’heure de l’alarme est atteinte, la radio s’allume ou la sonnerie retentit. La radio s’éteint ou la sonnerie s’arrête après 60 minutes ou quand l’alarme est désactivée.
Pour arrêter l’alarmeAppuyez sur ALARM RESET pendant le fonctionnement de l’alarme.L’alarme se déclenchera de nouveau le jour suivant à la même heure.Pour annuler l’alarmeAppuyez sur ALARM MODE jusqu’à ce que ni l’indicateur “A RADIO” ni l’indicateur “B BUZZER” ne soient affichés.
Remarques
•L’alarme ne fonctionnera que si vous avez réglé l’heure et la fonction A RADIO ou B BUZZER.
•Si les deux alarmes, par radio et par sonnerie, sont réglées sur la même heure, c’est l’alarme par radio qui sera prioritaire.
•Pour vérifier l’heure de l’alarme, appuyez surA RADIO ou B BUZZER.Pour sommeiller quelques minutes de plus
1Appuyez sur SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF.La radio s’éteindra ou la sonnerie s’arrêtera mais l’alarme se déclenchera de nouveau 8 minutes plus tard environ. Ce processus peut être répété à volonté.
•Le témoin d’alarme clignote continuellement quand la fonction SNOOZE est utilisée.
Utilisation du message enregistré
1Sélectionnez le mode d’alarme. (Voir “Réglage de l’alarme”.)2Enregistrez votre message. (Voir “Enregistrement numérique d’un message”.)3Appuyez sur WAKE UP MEMO.“” apparaît sur l’afficheur.Quand l’heure préréglée de l’alarme est atteinte, le message est reproduit et la radio ou la sonnerie fonctionne pendant 60 minutes, si vous ne l’arrêtez pas plus tôt. Quand vous appuyez sur ALARM RESET pour arrêter l’alarme, le message est reproduit une nouvelle fois et l’alarme est désactivée.
Si vous appuyez sur SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF alors que l’alarme radio ou la sonnerie est activée ainsi que le message, la radio ou la sonnerie s’arrête et le message est reproduit.
RemarqueLe message ne peut être utilisé qu’avec l’alarme.Réglage du temporisateur
Vous pouvez vous endormir au son de la radio grâce au temporisateur incorporé qui met automatiquement la radio hors tension à l’issue d’une durée spécifiée.
1Appuyez sur SLEEP.La radio s’allume. Elles s’éteindra quand le temps préréglé se sera écoulé. Vous pouvez régler le temporisateur sur 90, 60, 30 ou 15 minutes. A chaque pression sur la touche, l’affichage change comme suit.
