Setting the Clock and Date

Operating the Radio
1Press RADIO ON to turn on the radio.The “RADIO” indication will appear and the “On” indication will appear in the display. After 2 seconds, the indication becomes the current time with the “RADIO” indication.

To Set the Alarm Mode
Before setting the alarm mode, be sure to set the alarm time. (See “To Set the Alarm Time”.)
Repeat the pressing of ALARM MODE to select the alarm mode you want. Every time you press
ALARM MODE, CD/RADIO/BUZZER indicator and “ALARM” on the display changes in the order as follows:

Press ALARM SET CD, ALARM SET RADIO orALARM SET BUZZER.The display shows the alarm time for a few seconds and then returns to show the current time.
•Alarm time in CD alarm, radio alarm and buzzer alarm is set at AM 12:00 or 0:00 when you purchased the unit.
ALARM ON—
For the CD alarm, the track you specified as the

If you set the CD alarm and there is no disc in the CD player, the buzzer alarm will sound in its place at the time set.
For the radio alarm, the station that the tuning dial is set to will be received.
For the buzzer alarm, the beeping of the alarm becomes more rapid after every few seconds in three progressive stages.
NoteWhen CD, radio and buzzer alarms are set for the same time, the CD alarm takes precedence. If the CD alarm is not set, the radio alarm takes precedence.
To Doze for a Few More Minutes
Press SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF.The CD, radio or buzzer alarm turns off but will be automatically activated again after about 10 minutes. Every time you press SNOOZE/DATE/ SLEEP OFF, the snooze time changes as follows:

The display shows the snooze time for a few seconds and returns to show the current time. When you press SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF after the current time appeared, the snooze time starts from 10 minutes again.

You can enjoy falling asleep to the radio and be awakened by the CD, radio or buzzer alarm.

•Operate the unit on the power sources specified in the “Specifications.”•The nameplate indicating voltage, etc. is located on the bottom of the unit.•To disconnect the power cord (mains lead), pull it out by the plug, not the cord.
•The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the wall outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned off.
•Do not leave the unit in a location near a heat source such as a radiator or airduct, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or shock.
•Allow adequate air circulation to prevent internal heat
•Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, unplug the unit and have it checked by a qualified personnel before operating it any further.
•When the casing becomes soiled, clean it with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent solution. Never use abrasive cleansers or chemical solvents, as they may mar the casing.

Troubleshooting
Should any problem occur with the unit, make the following checks to determine whether or not servicing is required. If the problem persists, consult the nearest Sony dealer.
The clock does not show the correct time.•Has an electrical power outage lasting more than one minute occurred?The CD, radio or buzzer alarm does not sound at the preset alarm time.• Hasn’t all ALARM indicator lights gone out?The radio alarm is activated but no sound comes on at the preset alarm time.•Is the TUNING dial set to a receivable radio station?•Has VOLUME been adjusted ?The CD player does not operate.•Did you close the CD lid?•Did you place the disc correctly?The disc should be placed with the labelled side up.•Dusty or defective disc — Clean the disc with an optional cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out.
•Take out the CD and leave the CD compartment open for about an hour to get rid of moisture condensation.

•Om de klok precies op de seconde gelijk te zetten, drukt u in stap 5 na het kiezen van de juiste minuut de CLOCK toets in op het moment dat de klok moet gaan lopen vanaf nul seconden.

•Discs met afwijkende vormen (hoekig, hartvormig of stervormig) zijn in dit toestel niet af te spelen. Probeer het in geen geval, want de radiowekker kan er door beschadigd worden. Gebruik dergelijke discs niet.
•Als u op de CD u toets drukt terwijl er geen disc in het toestel aanwezig is, gaat in het uitleesvenster de aanduiding “00” ongeveer 5 seconden lang knipperen en dat wordt het toestel automatisch uitgeschakeld.

De wekker zetten
Deze radiowekker is voorzien van 3 wekfunctie — CD, radio en zoemer. Alvorens u de wekker instelt, dient u te zorgen dat de klok op de juiste tijd staat ingesteld (zie “De juiste tijd en de datum instellen”).
Instellen van de wektijd
Instellen van deAls u met een compact disc gewekt wilt worden, kunt u ook een muziekstuk kiezen als weknummer, dat dan als eerste wordt weergegeven.

Het uitleesvenster toont enkele seconden lang de gekozen uitslaaptijd en geeft dan weer de juiste tijd aan. Als u op de SNOOZE/DATE/SLEEP OFF toets drukt nadat de juiste tijd weer is verschenen, begint het instellen van de uitslaaptijd opnieuw vanaf 10 minuten.

Automatische afslag met de sluimerfunctie
Dankzij de sluimerfunctie kunt u gerust in slaap vallen terwijl de radio nog speelt. De radio zal automatisch worden uitgeschakeld, na een door u gekozen tijdsduur.
Druk op de RADIO ON•SLEEP toets.De radio wordt ingeschakeld. Door nogmaals drukken kunt u de sluimerfunctie voor het automatisch uitschakelen instellen op een tijdsduur van 90, 60, 30 of 15 minuten. Telkens wanneer u op deze toets drukt, verspringt de uitschakeltijd in minuten in het uitleesvenster als volgt:

U kunt in slaap vallen met de radio aan, om later op de ingestelde wektijd gewekt te worden door een CD, de radio of de zoemer.

Voorzorgsmaatregelen
•Gebruik het toestel op de stroomvoorziening die in de paragraaf “Technische gegevens” staat aangegeven.
•Een naamplaatje met daarop de bedrijfsspanning e.d. bevindt zich aan de onderkant van het toestel.
•Pak voor het losmaken van het netsnoer altijd de stekker vast. Trek nooit aan het snoer zelf.
•Zolanghetnetsnoerophetstopcontactisaangesloten, blijft de stroomtoevoer naar het toestel intact, zelfs nadat het toestel is uitgeschakeld.
•Zet het toestel niet in de buurt van een warmtebron, zoalseenkachelofverwarmingsradiator.Zorgertevens voordathetnietblootgesteldwordtaandirectzonlicht, veel stof en mechanische trillingen of schokken.
•Zorg voor voldoende ventilatie om oververhitting van de inwendige onderdelen te voorkomen. Zet het toestel niet op een zachte ondergrond (zoals op een deken, een kleedje of tapijt), en plaats het niet vlak tegen gordijnen of een wandtapijt aan, daar dit de
•Mocht er vloeistof of een voorwerp in het toestel terechtkomen, trek dan de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat het toestel daarna eerst door een bevoegd onderhoudsmonteur nakijken, voordat u het in gebruik neemt.
