Watching the TV

Notes

You cannot select the Effect mode if “Speaker” in the (Audio) menu is set to “Off.”

The Effect mode is valid only on the TV’s speakers. So you cannot enjoy sound effects of SRS WOW when you listen to a program through the AUDIO OUT jacks or on headphones.

SRS WOW may be restricted in the effects it produces when you listen to a program in monaural.

Tip

You can adjust other sound quality options. For details, see “Adjusting the Sound Quality” on page 39.

Using the 16:9

Enhanced Feature

The 16:9 Enhanced feature provides enhanced picture resolution, which allows you to watch widescreen pictures that have been stretched in the vertical direction, such as certain DVD titles, at their original 16:9 aspect ratio.

Note

The 16:9 Enhanced feature is available only when the TV is set to Video 1, Video 2 or Video 3, which you can do by pressing the TV/VIDEO button (see page 28).

Tip

The “aspect ratio” is the ratio of width to height of the screen. 16:9 is also referred to as widescreen format.
