Features

Noise canceling headphones reduce ambient noise, and provide a quieter environment to enhance audio entertainment. Ambient sound is synthesized with an anti-sound signal produced by the noise canceling circuit, and reduced. (Over 10 dB is reduced at 300 Hz.)

Slim swivel folding style for smart carrying and easy strage.Neodymium magnets are used to deliver powerful sound.Operates as passive headphones when noise canceling circuit is not activated.

Plug adaptor is supplied to connect directly to stereo or dual jack of in-flight music services.

Installing a battery
1Open the lid of the battery case on the right inner side of the headphone.Slide the battery case lid and unlock it.

2Insert one R03 (size AAA) battery by matching the e and E on the battery to the e and E in the battery case.

3Close the lid.Slide the battery case lid and lock it.

When to replace the battery

Replace the battery with a new one when the POWER indicator dims. The noise canceling feature may not work correctly if battery power is low.

Listening to music
1Connect the headphones to the AV equipment.

The POWER indicator lights in red. When the power is turned on, ambient noise is reduced, and you can listen to music more clearly at a lower volume.

After listening to music
Turn off the power of the headphones.Notes

The noise canceling function is only effective for noise in the low frequency band. Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled completely.

Do not cover the microphone of the headphones with your hands. The noise canceling function may not work properly.

If you cover the microphone of the headphones with your hands, howling may occur. In this case, move your hands away from the microphone.

You can use the headphones without turning on the power. In this case, the noise canceling function is not active, and the headphones operate as passive headphones.

Folding the headphones

The driver units rotate to make them flat for easy storage in the carring case (supplied) or a seat pocket.

The headphones contain a noise canceling circuit.What is noise canceling?

The noise canceling circuit actually senses outside noise with built-in microphones and sends an equal-but-opposite canceling signal to the headphones.

The noise canceling effect may not be pronounced in a very quiet environment, or some noise may be heard. In such a case, turn the POWER switch off.

When you turn the POWER switch on, the operation sound of the noise canceling may be noticeable. This is not a malfunction.

The noise canceling function is only effective for noise in the low frequency band. Although noise is reduced, it is not canceled completely.

When you use the headphones in a train or a car, noise may occur depending on street conditions. In such a case, turn the POWER switch off.

Notes on usageClean the headphones with a soft dry cloth.Do not leave the plug dirty otherwise the sound may be distorted.

Be sure to consult a Sony dealer when the earpads become dirty or damaged, or when the headphones require repair work.

The CE mark on the unit is valid only for products marketed in the European Union.

Do not leave the stereo headphones in a location subject to direct sunlight, heat or moisture.

Notes on headphonesPreventing hearing damage

Avoid using headphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise against continuous, loud and extended play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or discontinue use.

Do not listen with the headphones while driving or cycling

As your headphones reduce outside sounds, it may cause traffic accident. Also avoid using them where hearing must not be impaired, for example, at a railroad crossing, a site of construction, etc.

Check if the battery has expired (the POWER indicator dims). Replace the battery with a new one.

Installation de la pile

1Ouvrez le couvercle du logement de la pile situé sur le côté intérieur droit du casque d’écoute.

Faites glisser le couvercle du logement de la pile et déverrouillez-le.

2Insérez une pile R03 (taille AAA) en faisant correspondre les pôles e et E de la pile avec les repères e et E du logement de la pile.

Remplacement de la pile

Remplacez la pile par une pile neuve lorsque le témoin POWER s’assombrit. La fonction anti- bruit peut ne pas fonctionner correctement si la pile est déchargée.

En cas de raccordement à la mini-prise stéréo de la prise de la télécommande fournie avec un WALKMAN*, etc.

2Mettez le casque d’écoute sous tension.

Le témoin POWER s’allume en rouge. Lorsque le casque est sous tension, les bruits ambiants sont réduits et vous pouvez écouter de la musique plus clairement à un volume plus faible.

Une fois l’écoute de musique terminée
Mettez le casque d’écoute hors tension.Remarques

La fonction anti-bruit est efficace uniquement pour les bruits à basses fréquences. Bien que les bruits soient réduits, ils ne disparaissent pas complètement.

Ne masquez pas le microphone du casque d’écoute avec vos mains. Sinon, il est possible que la fonction anti-bruit ne fonctionne pas correctement.

Si vous masquez le microphone du casque d’écoute avec vos mains, une réaction acoustique peut se produire.

En pareil cas, écartez vos mains du microphone.

Microphone

L’effet anti-bruit peut varier selon la façon dont vous portez le casque d’écoute.

Vous pouvez utiliser le casque sans le mettre sous tension. La fonction anti-bruit est alors inactive et le casque passif.
