Cause and/or Solution

• The power is not turned on.
bTurn on the power. (p. 7)
• The floppy disk is not installed properly.
bRemove the disk and reinstall it. (p. 8)
• You did not press the STANDBY button.
bPress the STANDBY button to turn on the STANDBY lamp.

• Floppy disk is full.
bDelete the images you don’t want to keep, and then start

• The disk which cannot be used with the unit is installed.

• The tab on the disk is set to the write protect position.

• The battery is dead.

• The unit is placed near a TV or other equipment that generates
strong magnets.

• The ambient temperature is too low.

Troubleshooting

Should any problem persist after you have made those checks, consult your nearest

Sony dealer. If “C:ππ:ππ” appears on the LCD screen or on the TV, the self-

diagnosis function has worked. See page 30.

Symptom

The unit does not work.
You cannot record images.
The picture is noisy.
The picture on the LCD screen

Incorrect date and time are

The battery life deteriorates too
fast.
You cannot play back the
