Cause and/or Corrective Action
• Trouble is with the disk drive.
bTurn the power off and on again.
• The unformatted disk is installed.
bFormat the disk. (p. 22)
• The unusable disk with the unit is installed.
bChange the disk. (p. 4)
• A unit malfunction which you can not restore has occurred.
bContact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility and
inform them of the five digits. (example: E:61:10)

Self-diagnosis display
The unit has a self-diagnosis display. This function displays the unit condition with
five-digits (a combination of a letter and figures) on the LCD screen or on the TV. If this
occurs check the following code chart. The five-digit display informs you of the unit
current condition. The last two digits (indicated by ππ) will differ depending on the
state of the unit.
