To listen in stereo

Connect the supplied headphones/earphones with a remote control to the ijack on the recorder. On the remote control, use the >Nbutton to start playback, the xSTOP button to stop the recorder, and the VOL control to adjust the volume. If you are using the remote control, you will hear short beeps whenever you press the >Nbutton, and a long beep whenever you press the xSTOP button.

Find the beginning of the	.REVIEW/AMS once (Press the control towards .

Find the beginning of the	>CUE/AMS once (Press the control towards >N
next track	on the remote control). (Two short beeps)
Pause	XPAUSE (Press Xon the remote control). (Continuous
	short beeps) Press XPAUSE again to resume play.
Go backwards while	keep pressing .REVIEW/AMS (Press and hold the
playing1)	control towards . on the remote control).
Go forward while playing1)	keep pressing >CUE/AMS (Press and hold the control
	towards >Non the remote control).
Remove the MD	xSTOP (xon the remote control) and open the lid.2)

1)To go backward or forward quickly without listening, press XPAUSE (Xon the remote control) and keep pressing .REVIEW/AMS or >CUE/AMS (press and hold the control towards .or >Non the remote control).

2)Once you open the lid, the point to start play will change to the beginning of the first track.

If the play does not start

Make sure the recorder is not locked (page 25).

To locate a point quickly

Use the EASY SEARCH +/– buttons (page 22).

When using optional headphones/ earphones

Use only headphones/earphones with stereo mini plugs. You cannot use headphones/ earphones with micro plugs.

Notes

•The sound may skip during playback when the recorder is exposed to continuous vibration, such as while jogging.

•If the power supply is disrupted (i.e. the batteries are removed or become exhausted or the optional AC power adaptor is disconnected) when the recorder is operating, the lid may not open until the power is restored.
