If the following messages appear in the display window on the recorder, check the chart below.

AVLS NO

• AVLS is set to “On” and so the volume cannot rise higher.

VOLUME

, Set AVLS to “Off” (page 56).

OPERATION

 

 

 

BLANKDISC

• A disc with no recording on it is inserted.

 

 

BUSY WAIT A

• The recorder is accessing disc information.

MOMENT

• You tried to operate the recorder while it was accessing the recorded data.

 

, Wait until the message goes out (in rare cases, it may take a few

 

minutes).

 

 

CANNOT EDIT

• You selected, “Group Set”, “GroupRelease”, “Move”, or “Erase” while

 

recording.

 

• You tried to erase the track mark at the beginning of the first track or group.

 

• You tried to erase a track mark to combine tracks the recorder cannot

 

combine (a track recorded in stereo and in mono, for example).

 

• You tried to overwrite a track marks.

 

• You tried to change a title that includes characters the recorder cannot edit.

 

, Editing titles cannot be done if the title includes characters that cannot

 

be input on the recorder.

 

 

CANNOT

• You tried to press X or T MARK during synchro-recording.

OPERATE

 

 

 

CANNOT PLAY

• You tried to play a track that is subject to play restrictions.

 

• You tried to play an MP3 track with a format not supported by this recorder.

 

, This recorder only supports MP3 tracks (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3/

 

sampling frequency 44.1 kHz) that have been transferred using the

 

SonicStage software.

 

 

CANNOT

• You tried to record on a disc that has already been recorded in MD mode.

RECORD

, On this recorder, you cannot do additional recording on a disc that is

 

already recorded in MD mode. If you want to do additional recording

 

on such a disc, connect the recorder to a Windows computer and use the

 

supplied SonicStage or MD Simple Burner software.

 

 

CANNOT

• There is no audio data that can be played on the recorder.

RECORD OR

• The audio data or disc management file has been damaged.

PLAY

, Erase the whole disc (page 53) or perform the Format function

 

(page 55).

 

 

CANNOT SET

• You tried to set “Time Mark” during synchro-recording.

 

• You selected “REC Level” while the recorder is not in recording-pause.
