Battery Stamina

q DIGITAL

Digital still cameras and Handycams are portable devices. As in any portable device, battery life or stamina is critical. Strangely, battery stamina is often overlooked when purchasing a camera or Handycam. However, once the camera is being used, a buyer soon realises how important battery life is to the usefulness of the camera – it can greatly affect product satisfaction.

It’s often forgotten that the camera, not the battery, is what dictates power consumption. Sony Handycams and Cyber-shot cameras incorporate efficient processors, which enable amazing battery stamina.

All Sony Cyber-shot cameras incorporate Sony’s Real Imaging Processor (RIMP), designed to deliver the ultimate operating efficiency, resulting in exceptional battery life.

InfoLITHIUM Batteries

All Sony Handycams and selected Cyber-shot Digital Still cameras feature InfoLITHIUM battery technology which accurately displays the remaining battery life in minutes. Each InfoLITHIUM battery features a microprocessor that allows real-time communication between the camera and the battery. This accurate minute system lets you rely on your battery display so you always know how much time you have left to use your camera. Never guess again!

Sony Handycams also have a Display Battery Info button. This shows the battery status without even having to switch the Handycam on.

Battery Info Display on Handycams allows you to check battery charge without turning the Handycam on

Carl Zeiss Lens

One of the most important parts of any camera (video or still) is the lens. Almost all Sony cameras incorporate lenses from one of the world’s best lens manufacturers – Carl Zeiss. These lenses minimise reflection and allow clean, distortion-free light to pass into the camera. This results in superb, sharp images with excellent colour reproduction. These benefits are particularly obvious in low-light conditions as are often found indoors.

Some models also incorporate Carl Zeiss T* coating which reduces lens flare (glare) by up to 82 percent. T* coated lenses are ideal in sunny conditions and all but eliminate repeated ghost spots on images.
