
Searching with the AMS or index function
You can search for the start of a specific passage or scene. There are two ways for automatic searching depending on the way the tape was recorded.

Selecting the AMS or index function
The AMS (Automatic Music Sensor) function is mainly for karaoke tapes. It searches for blank spaces (of at least four seconds) between recorded signals on the sound track of a tape. Use this function to search an index- incompatible tape. If you are not sure of the way the tape was recorded, try AMS first.
The index function is for indexed tapes like the tapes recorded with this unit. The unit marks the tape with an index signal at the point where each recording begins. When you use commercially prerecorded tape, check the packaging to see if the tape is
1 Press MENU and select SET UP KARAOKE, then press EXECUTE.
2 Press CURSOR >/./?//to select SEARCH MODE, then select either AMS or
INDEX.
3 Press EXECUTE.
