Using the blank search function

BLANK SEARCH

The VCR locates the unrecorded (blank) portion of the tape and stops automatically using the blank search function.

You can use this function to find the end of the recording.

1 Insert a tape into the VCR.

2 Press BLANK SEARCH during playback or in stop mode.

BLANK SEARCH

The AUTO indicator appears in the display window, and “BLANK SEARCH” appears on the screen.

The VCR advances rapidly and automatically stops at the beginning of an unrecorded portion.

Notes

•The information may not appear if “DISPLAY” is set to OFF in the SET UP menu.

•If the current time is displayed, press DISPLAY to switch to the time counter.

•If you activate the blank search function with non-recorded tape or a tape with no blanks, the VCR searches for the blank all the way to the end of the tape, rewinds to the beginning of the tape and stops.
