Using the Wireless LAN
To communicate without an access point (ad-hoc)

The IEEE 802.11a standard, using the 5 GHz band, and the IEEE 802.11n dra ft standard, using the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, are not available on ad-hoc
networks.
1Turn on the WIRELESS switch.
2Click the VAIO Smart Network icon on the taskbar.
3Click the switch next to your desired wireless option(s) to toggle it to On in the VAIO Smart Network window.
Make sure the WIRELESS indicator light turns on.
4Click Start and Control Panel.
5Click View network status and tasks under Network and Internet.
6Click Set up a new connection or network.
7Select an option to specify the ad-hoc network settings and click Next.
8Follow the on-screen instructions.
