Connecting and Mounting Your Speakers:
Please follow these directions for using your IO2 speakers:
Connecting:
It is important that before making any connections with the speaker terminals on your IO2 Speakers that your power source, amplifier and/or receiver is completely off. After the power source is off, carefully untighten the red and black terminal connects on the back of the speakers by turning them counterclockwise until the mounting holes in the underlying screw terminal are visible. Pass the positive/red connection wire from your amplifier through the underlying screw hole on the red terminal, then tighten the terminal securely by turning clockwise until the speaker wire is secure. Do likewise with the black/common speaker wire from your amplifier on the black connection terminal.
Wiring & Impedance:
Upon connecting 2 speakers in a parallel wiring application, realize that the impedance of the speakers will be 4 ohms and act accordingly. Make sure amplifier has impedance matching feature, or run through an interior volume control that is impedance matching to keep the all the components of the sound system at 8 ohms.
