Your Sunbeam Compact Oscillating Ceramic heater is equipped with a safety system that detects any abnormally high temperatures within the heater and automatically shuts it off to prevent overheating. If the heater is getting excessively hot, an alarm will sound.

Do not operate the heater with the alarm sounding. Immediately turn the heater off at the power outlet and check that there aren't any objects on or around the heater.

This first stage of the safety system requires the user to manually reset the heater for it to resume operation.

Thermal back-up device

In addition to this automatic shut-off, your heater contains an over temperature thermal back-up device to provide additional back- up protection. If the heater is in an overheat situation, the back-up device will operate, stopping the power flow to the element and fan.

In the event that the back-up device is activated, the heater will need to be reset. For instructions on how to reset your heater, see page 7.
