Care and Maintenance

Your Optimus Color LCD TV is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. These sug- gestions will help you care for it so you can enjoy it for years.

Keep the TV dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.

Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that destroy electronic circuits.

Handle the TV gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases and can cause the TV to work improperly. Be particularly careful of the display screen. Avoid putting the TV in your pocket or purse together with hard objects (coins, keys, etc.).

Use and store the TV only in normal temperature environments.

Keep the TV away from dust and dirt.

Wipe the TV with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the TV.

Modifying or tampering with the TV’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the TV’s warranty. If the TV is not performing as it should, take it to your local Ra- dioShack store for assistance.

Equipped with a 14-inch color monitor, users could enjoy a richer visual experience, particularly when using educational or gaming programs designed for children and families.

Storage options were another notable aspect of the Tandy 16-175. It generally came with a single 5.25-inch floppy disk drive, which could be utilized for loading software and storing files. Additional external drive options were available, allowing users to expand their data storage capabilities. The system also featured a parallel port and a serial port, making it easy to connect printers, modems, and other peripherals.

The Tandy 16-175 ran on Tandy's unique version of the MS-DOS operating system, optimized for compatibility with the hardware. This DOS variant maintained a user-friendly interface while taking full advantage of the system's capabilities. The inclusion of Tandy's proprietary software packages further enhanced the user experience, offering tools for productivity and creativity.

Moreover, the Tandy 16-175 boasted a compact and stylish design, making it an aesthetically pleasing addition to any home or office setup. Its thoughtful design included easy-to-access ports and switches, which enhanced usability for all levels of computer users.
