Never disassemble the body of the appliance. You need only carry out stan- dard cleaning and maintenance of the appliance.

If the power cable or the plug is damaged, do not use your appliance.

So as to avoid any danger, it is imperative that you have them replaced by an appro- ved service centre (see list in the hand blender booklet).

For your safety, only use accessories and spare parts that correspond to your appliance.

Do not operate it for more than 1 minute each time.

Never immerse the blender shaft in a pre- paration that is over 3/4 of its total height.

ÜSTARTING UP / USE

Before using for the first time, clean the accessories in soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Screw the blender shaft onto the motor unit (A) 4 .

Fold back the flexible cap of the cord tidy

(E)and fully unwind the power cord (see storage paragraph). Plug in the appliance, immerse the shaft in the preparation and then press the start button (B).

Warning: Do not operate the shaft without any foodstuffs.

Practical advice

The container that you are using should be a maximum of 2/3 full to avoid any

overspills 5 . The preparation should at least cover the bottom of the blender to ensure efficient blending.

Remove the cooking container from the heat source when blending hot prepara- tions. Remember to move the blender shaft around the container for optimal blending.

For stringy foodstuffs (leeks, celery, etc.), clean the shaft regularly during use,paying careful attention to the safety instructions for disassembly and cleaning.

For fruit-based preparations, chop and stone the fruit beforehand.

Making mayonnaise:Put the ingredients in the beaker, place the blender shaft at the bottom of the container, start the applian- ce and move it slowly upwards.

Do not use the blender shaft with hard foodstuffs such as coffee, ice cubes, sugars, cereals and chocolate.
