not the battery,is at fault.

A1 board. on page 6-6
will allow you to determine whether there is a power
supply problem.
The A2 Display BoardThe A2 Display board is probably at fault if:
Hsegments of the display are missing
Hthe backlight does not operate
Tocheck the display, power on the J17 without a
sensorĆhead attached, and note whether all segĆ
ments of the display are activated.
If the entire display is inactive, or if the backlight does
not operate, proceed to
to rule out a problem with the power supply.
Checking the Power SupplyTocheck the power supply, you will need:
H3/32Ăinch hex wrench
HPosidrivscrewdriver
Ha DC voltmeter
(for voltages in the range 0 to 15 V)
HNineĆvolt, IEC 6LR61Ćtype alkaline battery
