Care and Handling of the Battery
The battery should be handled carefully to ensure maximum life. In particular:
qDo not drop the battery or subject it to shocks.
qDo not expose the battery to direct sunlight.
qDo not expose the battery to moisture or chemicals.
qDo not short the battery leads or connect the battery with the wrong
polarity.
qIf you have a spare battery pack, always keep it stored in the furnished
protective covering.
qNever use the battery to power other products.
qNever recharge the battery differently than described in Chapter 3 of this
manual.
qNever dispose of an old battery in fire.
qAlways charge the battery after the automatic deep discharge cycle
completes. When the LowBatt indicator starts to blink, this warns you
that the computer is about to turn off automatically to prevent damage to
the computer hardware. After the computer turns off, leave the power
switch set to on (1) until the Low Batt indicator stops blinking.
qWhen charging the battery allow 1 1/2 hours of trickle charge after the
amber indicator goes out on the AC Adapter to gain the maximum
battery charge.
