Heavy Duty
Steel face sheets will be 24-gauge, galvanized tension-leveled steel for superior flatness and enhanced corrosion resistance. 22-gauge steel face sheets optional on Therma-Tru pre-hung units for added strength and durability.
Rugged Construction
The door edges will be mechanically overlapped the full height on both sides of door and adhered with foamed-in-place polyurethane. The door will be stiffened with integrally-formed top and bottom rails securely welded at the top and bottom of door with two welds each.
Insulated
Doors will be foamed-in-place, stiffened and structurally reinforced with environmentally friendly polyurethane at a density of 2 lbs/ft3. The insulating value of the core will be R-11.
Hinge Prep
Door will have 4" high template hinge preps machined, reinforced for secure anchoring of
hinges as follows:
•Standard Pre-Hung –18 gauge plate reinforcements to receive 10-24 screws.
•12-24 TR Series –10 gauge plates tapped to receive 12-24 screws.
•ProEdge™ Adjustable Hinge –16 gauge plates countersunk, extruded and tapped to 10 gauge equivalent to receive 10-24 screws.
Performance
Screw-applied bottom sweep for enhanced water and air infiltration resistance.

Paint Finish
Doors will come with a factory prime finish for added rust inhibition. Primed surface will be suitable for maximum adhesion of finish top coat.
Advanced Lock Reinforcing
Latching and deadlocking hardware is supported with an advanced injection-molded composite lock reinforcement with superior screw-holding power. Advanced door avoids the problem of “telegraphing” of the lock reinforcement typical with
wood blocks. Design also allows for uniform foam flow for a flatter door face at lock area.
Lock Machining
Lock preparations include 2 1/8" face bores at both 2 3/4" and 2 3/8" backsets. Edge preps for cylindrical preps shall feature 11/8" x 2 1/4".
Deadlock edge prep located at multiple center options to latching edge prep. Deadlock cross bore optional. Mortise lock preps available for card reader and other commercial applications.
Security
Therma-Tru now offers added security with new impact rated products, including opaque fiberglass impact rated doors and new impact rated glass, available with either our new lip-lite frame or flush-glazed into the door panel. Therma-Tru impact rated products provide safety and security against burglary and forced entry.
Fire Rating
All of our fire-rated steel doors offer additional security with up to a 90-minute positive pressure fire rating available and certified by Warnock Hersey. A 20-minute smoke rating and the option of a triple bore is also available.
