4Click Next.

The Add Printer Wizard asks you to select your printer.

TECHNICAL NOTE: If your printer is Plug and Play, the

operating system recognizes it automatically. You can ignore

the remainder of this section. See your printer manual.

5If the printer you are setting up:

❖Is not connected to a network, select Local printer

attached to this computer.

If you select Local printer, check “Automatically detect and

install my Plug and Play printer.”

❖Is connected to a network, select Network printer, or a

printer attached to another computer.

6Click Next.

The Add Printer Wizard prompts you to select your printer.

Disk drive problems You are having trouble accessing a disk, or one or more files appear to be missing. Error-checking Your hard disk seems very slow. Your data files are damaged or corrupted. Some programs run correctly but others do not. DVD-ROM or multi-function drive problems You cannot access a disc in the drive. You press the disc eject button, but the drive tray does not slide out. Some discs run correctly, but others do not. Sound system problems You do not hear any sound from the computer. The computer emits a loud, high-pitched noise. The computer stops working (hangs) when you insert a PC Card. Hot swapping (removing one PC Card and inserting another without turning the computer off) fails. Modem problems The modem will not receive or transmit properly. Develop good computing habits Save your work frequently. On a regular basis, back up the information stored on your hard disk.
