Removing the battery from the computer

To remove the battery:

1Save your work.

2Power off the computer or place it in Hibernation mode according to the instructions in “Using and configuring Hibernation mode” on page 81.

3Unplug and remove any cables connected to the computer, including the AC adaptor.

4Close the display panel and turn the computer upside down.

Before you turn the computer over, make sure that the computer display is properly closed and is not in tablet mode. Setting the computer down on the display may cause damage to the screen.

5Slide the battery release lock to the unlocked position.
