At the core of the MD14FP1's appeal is its 14-inch display, which delivers clear and vibrant images. The screen utilizes a flat panel technology, presenting a more consistent viewing experience with reduced glare compared to traditional CRT models. The resolution, while standard for televisions of its time, provides sufficient clarity for watching regular broadcasts and DVDs.

In terms of connectivity, the MD14FP1 is equipped with multiple input options including composite, S-video, and RF terminals, allowing users to connect various devices such as DVD players, gaming consoles, and cable boxes. Watching movies becomes more convenient, as users can enjoy their favorite titles without needing to switch devices.
