Operation:
2-to-1 Mode
Auto Mode:
The switch automatically scans all input ports for print jobs. Flashing LEDs indicate that the switch is in the Auto mode. When a print job is detected, the switch locks on the active input port and blocks all other print jobs. After printing is completed, the switch releases the port and starts to scan all ports for another print job.
Manual Mode:
Each time the manual button on the top is pressed, the active port moves to the next port in the following order: A Î B Î Auto Î A. The illuminated LED indicates which port is active. When a port is selected manually, it is the ONLY port that can print. The port cannot be changed during a print job or during the timeout period.
File Transfer Mode (Available in the 2-to-1 Mode only):
Allows files and peripherals to be shared. Activate by pressing and holding the port selection button on the top until both LED’s are continually lit. Additional software such as Interlnk/Intersrv of DOS, or FastLynx of Rupp Corp is also needed. In Windows 95 you may use the Direct Cable Connection in the networking options. However, you must also have: (1)
Direct Cable Connection installed, (2) the IPX/SPX network protocol installed, (3) file and print sharing enabled, and (4) at least one folder shared.
