What isScanning?

Unlike standardAM or FM radio stations, most two-way communications (listedon this page) do not transmit continuously. TheBC80XLT scans programmed channels until it finds an active frequency. Scanning stops on anactive frequency, and remains on that channel as longas the transmission continues. When thetransmission ends, thescanningcycle resumes until another transmission is received. While theBC8OXLTscans channels, it isin Scanmode. When youstopscanning with“MANUAL” it is in Manual mode.

What isSearching?

TheBC80XLTcan search 11 bands tofind activefrequencies. This gives you the opportunity to find new frequencies that havenot been programmed. WhiletheBC80XLTsearchesfor active frequencies, it is inSearchmode. When you stop the searchwith “HOLD” it is in SearchHoldmode.
