Double Layer Technologies
Achieving Double Layer recording meant the creation of a new substrate layer that sits in between each recording layer that was reflective enough to ‘bounce’ the laser beam back when recording to layer 0, but also transparent enough to let the laser beam through to record to layer 1.
This achievement means uninterrupted recording up to 55 minutes on an 8cm disc.
