Inserting and Removing the USB760 Modem

When you connect the USB76 0 Modem, the following should occur once VZAcc ess Manager has been

installed:

• Under ideal conditions, the labe l of the USB760 Modem sh ould be facing up.

• The USB760 Modem is powere d as soon as you connect it t o the Type A USB port of yo ur computing

device. Although the modem is powered, it does not autom atically connect to the Intern et.

• The LED indicator on the device lights up.

• If sound effects are enabled, the computing device may bee p.

• The VZAccess Manager Softwa re starts (unless the auto-lau nch feature has been disabl ed).

To properly insert the USB76 0 Modem:

1. Remove the protective cap fro m the device.

2. Grip the USB760 Modem by i ts sides and gently insert the device into the Type A USB port. The

USB760 Modem should fit easil y into the USB port. Do not force the USB760 Modem in to the USB

port as this may damage both t he device and the USB port.

3. The Hardware Icon appears in the system tray (Windows) or on the Desktop (Mac).

NOTE: If you are experiencing t rouble inserting the device i nto you computer’s USB por t:

1. Verify that you are inserting t he device the proper way.

2. Verify that you are using a Ty pe-A USB port.
