Troubleshooting
USB760 Modem
The following tips will help s olve many common prob lems encountered while using the USB760
Modem:
• Make sure you are using the US B760 Modem in the correct geographic region: a
BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess US B760 Modem in the US.
• Ensure that the wireless netwo rk’s coverage extends to you r current location.
When properly installed, the USB760 Modem is a high ly reliable product. Mos t problems are caused
by one of these issues:
• The wrong driver has been inst alled.
• System resources required by t he USB760 Modem are bein g used by other devices.
• Network coverage is not availa ble (either because you are o utside the BroadbandAcce ss and
NationalAccess coverage area or because of an account or network problem).
My notebook does not rebo ot when the USB760 Mod em is inserted. I experien ce an error or a blank
screen.
• When this happens, simply rem ove the device and reboot t he system.
The device contains internal me mory which behaves like a CD-ROM. Some notebo oks depending on
the system BIOS settings, may tr y to reboot from the CD-R OM before the Hard Driv e. The machine
may present a black screen with a cursor or an error mess age about a non-bootab le disk. This
behavior is similar when using a ny non bootable CD in yo ur CD-ROM drive.
