WARNING : Alwayswear eye pro-
tection. Never lean over the trimmer
head.Rocks or debris can ricochet or be
thrown into eyes and face and cause
blindness orother serious injury.
When operatingunit, stand as shown and
check for the following:
SWeareye protection and heavy clothing.
SHoldtrigger handle withright hand and
assist handle withleft hand.
SKeep unit below waist level.
SCutfrom your rightto your left to ensure
debrisis thrown away from you. With-
out bending over, keep line near and
parallel to the ground (perpendicular
when edging) and not crowded into
materialbeing cut.

SPressbutton located on the underside
ofthe upper handle and extend handle
to a comfortableposition.

Toadvancethe line, tap the bottom of the
cuttinghead on the groundwhile the trim-
mer is running at full speed. The metal
blade attached to the shieldwill cut the
lineto the proper length.

buttonon the side of the unit. If your unit
includes this featureyou can press this
button and twist the lowerportion 180_
counterclockwise into an edging posi-
tion.

SAfter each use, inspect complete unit
forloose ordamaged parts. Clean the
unitusing a damp cloth with a mild de-
tergent.
SWipe offunit with a clean dry cloth.
