MagneticDeclination Compensation
Compensatefor an object’s bearing by subtracting westerly magnetic
declinationoradding easterlymagnetic declinationwith the magnetic bearing.
Example1
-Westerly magnetic declination = 23°, Magnetic bearing = 323°.
-True bearing: 323°- 23° = 300°.
Example2
-Easterly magnetic declination = 22°, Magnetic bearing = 278°.
-True bearing: 278° + 22° = 300°.
•This watch will compensate the compass bearing automatically if the user
inputsthe magnetic declination angle into the watch at the Magnetic
Declinationsetting mode.
•Check the “Calibrating the Compass” section on p.10 for more details
ofthe calibration.
