Note: The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the amount of water placed into water reservoir; coffee grounds and the filter will absorb approximately 10% of the water.

4)With the lid still open, turn shower head to the back and remove the filter basket. Place filter in the filter basket. (Use quality disposable 8-12 cup filters or use reusable nylon filter provided.) Measure one tablespoon (level) of drip or regular grind coffee for each cup of coffee desired and place in filter. Be careful not to get any grounds on the filter basket.

5)Return filter basket to the unit. Make sure filter basket tab fits into slot on filter basket holder. Move the shower head toward front over the filter basket until shower head clicks into place. Close top lid of coffeemaker. Do not open lid during brewing cycle; leaving lid down preserves the coffee’s flavor and heat and prevents steam burns.

6)Replace glass carafe on warming plate.

7)Press the switch to “ON”. A BLUE light will illuminate during operation.

8)Upon completion of brew cycle, wait 1 minute before removing carafe from the unit to allow any remaining liquid to seep through.

9)Remove carafe and pour desired amount into cup(s). To keep coffee warm, place the carafe back on the warming plate of coffeemaker.

WARNING: With the carafe off the unit, the warming plate is exposed and HOT. Do not touch.

10)Wait 10 minutes before brewing a second pot of coffee. Turn unit off by pressing switch to “OFF”; the BLUE light will turn off.

11)This unit does not turn off automatically. Switch power to “OFF” when carafe is empty or when the unit is not in use. Unplug from wall outlet.

Tips for general operation

To use Pause & Serve feature, remove carafe during brewing cycle and pour a cup of coffee. Replace carafe on warming plate within 30 seconds to avoid overflow or possible injury.

For best results, always clean unit after every use and use fresh, cold water when brewing.

Finer grinds will produce a fuller extraction and provide a richer, full-bodied coffee. Regular grinds will need more coffee per cup to produce the same coffee strength of a finer grind.

For stronger coffee, use more grounds; for weaker coffee, use less grounds.

Grinding whole beans immediately before use will produce optimum coffee flavor.

Store coffee in a cool, dry place to maintain freshness. Do not reuse coffee grounds. This will impair the flavor of your coffee.
