If you need service or assistance, we suggest you follow these four steps:

I. Before calling for assistance...

Performance problems often result from little thongs you can find and ftx yourself without tools of any krnd

if your refrigerator will not operate:

l	Is the	electrrc	cord	plugged	In3
l	Is a fuse blown		or a	crrcurt	breaker	trapped?
l	Is the	Temperature		Control	dral turned ON?

if your ice maker will not operate:

l Has the freezer				had enough		time	toget	cold? With
	a new	refrrgerator,		this	might	take	overnight
l	Is the	srgnal	arm	ON	In the	down	positron?
l	Is the water valve turned on, and IS water getting
	to the	tee	maker?

I1 there is a rattling or jtngiing noise, or other unfamiliar sounds:

l Is something on top or behind the refrigerator mak-

rng noise when the refrigerator IS running?

l New features on your new refrigerator make new sounds You may be heanng arr flowrng from the

fans, timer clrcks for the defrosting cycle, defrost water drarnrng Into the defrost pan. If you have an Ice maker, you will hear water flll the molds and the ice drop Into the brn

if there is water in the defrost pan:

l In hot, muggy weather, this IS normal The pan can

even be half full. Make sure the refrigerator IS level so the pan doesn’t overflow

if the light doesn’t work:

l

Check

fuses

and

circuit

breakers.

Make

sure

It’s

plugged

in.

l

The

bulb

may

be

burned

out.

Unplug

the

refrrger-

ator.

remove

the

ltght

shreld. replace

the

bulb

with

an

appliance

bulb

no

larger

than

40 watts

Re-

place

the

light shield

and

plug

in the

cord

it the motor seems to run too much:

l

Is the

condenser,

behind

the

base

grill,

free

of dust

and

l

On hot

days,

or If

the

room

IS warm,

the

motor

naturally

runs longer

l

If the

door

has

been

opened

a

lot,

or If

a

large

amount

of

food

has

been

put

in. the motor

will

run

longer

to cool

down

the

Interior

Remember: Motor running time depends on drf-

ferent things: number of door openings, amount of

food stored, temperature of the room, setting of the controls

And, your new refrigerator may be larger than your old one so tt has more space to be cooled. It also has a regular freezer instead of a frozen food

compartment. All thts means better refrrgeration and may require more running time than your old one
