Connectthe inlet hoses to the washer
1. Attachthe hot water hose to the bottom(or left-hand,
onsome models) inlet valve.
2. Attachingthe hot water couplingrst makes it easier to tighten
theconnection with pliers (on somemodels).
3. Screwon coupling by hand untilit is seated on the washer.
4. Usingpliers, tighten the couplingswith an additional
two-thirdsturn.
NOTE:Do not overtighten or use tapeor sealants on the
valve.Damage to the valves can result.
5. Attachthe cold water hose to the top(or right-hand,
onsome models) inlet valve.
6. Screwon coupling by hand untilit is seated on the washer.
7. Usingpliers, tighten the couplingswith an additional
two-thirdsturn.
NOTE:Do not overtighten or use tapeor sealants on the
valve.Damage to the valves can result.

Checkfor leaks

Turnon the water faucetsand check for leaks. A small amount
ofwater might enter the washer.You willdrain this later.
NOTE:Replace inlet hoses after5 years of use to reduce the risk
ofhose failure. Record hoseinstallation or replacementdates for
futurereference.
■Ifyou connect only one water hose,you must cap off the
remainingwater inlet port.
■Periodicallyinspect and replacehoses if bulges, kinks, cuts,
wear,or leaks are found.
Securethe DrainHose
1. Removethe shipping materialfrom the power cord. Drape the
powercord over the console.
2. Removeany cardboard usedto move the washer.
3. Wrapthe drain hose to the laundrytub leg, drain standpipe,
orinlet hoses with the beaded tie strap.Push fastener into
thenearest hole in the beaded tiestrap. See view A or B.
Ifthe washer faucets and the drainstandpipe are recessed,
putthe formed end of the drain hose intothe standpipe.
Tightlywrap the tie strap aroundthe water inlet hoses and
thedrain hose. See view C.
Levelthe Washer
Properlyleveling your washeravoids excessive noise and
vibration.
Installthe front leveling feet
1. Propup the front of the washerabout 4" (10.2 cm) with a
woodblock or similar object. Theblock needs to support the
weightof the washer.
