Connecting to water line

1.Unplug the refrigerator or discon- nect power supply.

2.Turn OFF main water supply. Turn ON nearest faucet long enough to clear line of water.

3.Find a 1⁄2-inch to 11⁄4-inch vertical COLD water pipe near the refrigerator.

NOTE: Horizontal pipe will work, but the following precaution must be taken: Drill on the top side of the pipe, not the bottom. This will help keep water away from the drill. This also keeps normal sediment from collecting in

the valve.

4.Measure from connection on rear of refrigerator to water pipe. Add

7 feet (2.1 m) to allow for moving refrigerator for cleaning. This is the length of 1⁄4-inch O.D. copper tubing you will need for the job (length from connection to water pipe PLUS 7 feet [2.1 m]). Be sure both ends of copper tubing are cut square.

1.Débrancher le réfrigérateur ou déconnecter la source de courant électrique.

2.FERMER le robinet principal d’arrivée d’eau. OUVRIR le robinet de puisage le plus proche pendant une période suffisante pour que la canalisation d’eau se vide.

3.Trouver une canalisation d’eau FROIDE verticale de 1⁄2Ê po à

11⁄4 po au voisinage du réfrigéra- teur.

REMARQUE : On peut alimenter le réfrigérateur à partir d’une canalisation horizontale, mais on doit alors observer la précaution suivanteÊ : percer par le dessus de la canalisation, et non pas par le dessous. Ainsi, l’eau ne risquera pas d’arroser la perceuse. Ceci empêche également les sédiments qu’on trouve normalement dans l’eau de s’accumuler dans le robinet d’arrêt.

4.Mesurer la distance entre le point de connexion à l’arrière du ré- frigérateur et le tuyau d’arrivée d’eau. Ajouter une longueur de 2,1Ê m (7Ê pi) pour permettre le déplacement du réfrigérateur pour les opérations de nettoyage. C’est la longueur du tube en cuivre de
