Before You Call For Service
If you are having an operating problem, check the list to see what the cause might be before you call for assistance.
OPERATING PROBLEM
Nothing operates
Oven will not operate
Surface units will not operate
The
Control knob(s) will not turn
Cooking results aren’t what you expected
CHECK IF
lRange is properly connected to a live
circuit with the proper voltage.
lFuse has blown or circuit breaker has
tripped.
lControl knob is set in the correct position.
lOven Selector is turned to BAKE or
BROIL.
lOven Temperature Control is turned to a
temperature setting.
lThe automatic clock is set correctly.
lRange is properly connected to a live
circuit with the proper voltage.
lFuse has blown or circuit breaker has
tripped.
lThe surface units are plugged in.
lThe Oven Selector and Oven Temperature Control are set to CLEAN.
lThe Start Time Dial shows the correct time of day and the knob is all the way
out.
lThe Stop Time Dial is set ahead to the time you want the cleaning cycle to stop.
lThe Lock Lever is all the way to the right.
lYou pushed in knob(s) before trying to turn.
lThe range is level.
lThe oven temperature seems too low or
too high.
lPans are the size called for in the recipe. l You are following a tested recipe from a
reliable source.
l The cooking utensils have smooth, flat
bottoms and fit the surface elements.
l When baking, you have preheated the oven as the recipe calls for.
l When baking, you have allowed 1 l/2 to 2 inches
l When broiling, you have not completely closed the broiler door.
WHAT TO DO
. Reconnect range to electrical supply. (See Installation Instructions.)
lReplace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
lSet control knob correctly, if needed.
lTurn Oven Selector to the desired setting, if needed. If Oven Selector is turned to TIMED
BAKE, wait until start time is reached.
lTurn Oven Temperature Control to the
desired temperature setting, if needed.

lReconnect range to electrical supply. (See Installation Instructions.)
lReplace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
. See “Thesurface units and reflector bowls” on page 7 for information on how to plug in surface units.
. Set the Oven Selector and Oven Temperature Control to CLEAN, if needed.
lTurn the Start Time Knob to the correct time of day. The knob will pop out slightly.
lSee “Setting the controls” on page 9 for information on how to set the Stop Time
Knob.
lMove the Lock Lever all the way to the right, if needed.
lPush in knob(s) before turning.
lIf needed, level range.
l Adjust temperature. See page 5.
l Use
lModify recipe or find a new recipe.
lUse cooking utensils with smooth, flat
bottoms.
lPreheat the oven according to recipe’s
specifications.
lReposition pans for best air circulation.
lOpen oven door to Broil Stop position.
