How to Use Your Board Straighteners

To hold and cut an irregular-edged board without the use of a jointer, do these steps and see Figures 1 and 2.

• Always use two or more Board Straightenersto

hold the workpiece to the guide board; otherwise,

the boards can slip apart, causing kickback. It is

often better to use too-many Board Straighteners

than too-few.

• ONLY use Board Straightenersfor holding an

irregular-edged board to a guide board for cutting

1.Choose a straight and square piece of 12" thick wood for the guide board, which is the same length or longer than the workpiece you will cut; and make a 316" deep by 112" wide rabbet cut the complete length of your needed guide board.
