Printer Problems

If you have any problems with the operation of your DocuPrint P8ex printer, refer to Table 6.1. If the problem cannot be solved by carrying out the instructions in this table, call the Xerox Helpline.

Table 6.1 Solving Printer Problems

The printer does not	The interface cable is not	Check the interface cable connection.

	The interface cable is defective.	Swap the cable with one known to work.
		If printing is now possible, replace the
		defective interface cable.
	The port setting is incorrect.	Check the Windows printer settings to
		make sure that the print job is being sent
		to the correct port (for example, LPT1).
	The image cartridge is not installed	Remove and reinsert the image
	properly.	cartridge.
	A paper jam has occurred.	Clear the paper jam (refer to “Clearing
		Paper Jams” in section 3-1).
	The printer may be configured	Check the application to make sure that
	incorrectly.	all print settings are correct.
	The printer driver may be incorrectly	Remove the printer driver by deleting the
	installed.	Xerox DocuPrint P8ex icon. Then
		reinstall the printer driver as described in
		section 1-4-1. Try printing a test page.
	Printer is in manual feed mode	Push the On/Off-line button to print.
	(PAPER light is blinking).
