PLAYING THE PADS AND SELECTING KITS.You can generally play the drum pads in real-time regardless of the mode
you’re in. From within some of the Drum Kit Mode functions, pressing the pad
buttons will also display information about the various settings for each pad.
■SELECTING THE PAD BANKS - Each of the twelve drum pads has two drum
voices assigned to it. These are organized in “Drum” and “Percussion” Pad
Banks. To switch back and forth between the two Pad Banks, press [PAD
BANK]. Either the word “DRUM” (Drum Pad Bank) or the abbreviation “PERC”
(Percussion Pad Bank) will appear in the upper right area of the LCD as you
switch back and forth between each bank.
■ADDING ACCENTS AS YOU PLAY- Each drum voice in a kit has a designated
“accent level” assigned to it which permits you to apply playing dynamics to
the drum beats as you play in real-time, as well as record accents in User
patterns. To add accents while playing the various drum pads, hold [ACCENT]
to apply the accent level to the desired drum hits. The accent level for each
drum voice in the Preset drum kits cannot be modified; however, you can
specify the accent level (for softer or louder dynamics) for each drum voice in
a User drum kit.
